Tre Piani Restaurant has been an institution in the greater Princeton area for over sixteen years. Jim Weaver the chef and owner has been a leader in the local food movement and continues to be for the greater good of the ever evolving community. Through the years Tre Bar was added, specializing in wines by the glass and small plates in a sexy, sophisticated style. Both the restaurant and the bar have always been known for high quality fresh food, a well chosen wine list, great service and the most beautiful space in the area.
What you may not know is that Tre Piani is also a catering company for on or off premise events. Our newly renovated Galleria Banquet Room (pictured) can seat 100 people and has its own bar and a dance floor. There are also private areas for intimate cocktail parties or formal business dinners. We are asked all the time to “send over the menus” and we do but we can do so much more to help you think through your party so that it is even better than you could imagine. Each event usually has an agenda that needs to be addressed such as expense, privacy, fun, serious, social or business. That is what we hone in on and that is why we do a better job that anyone else.
Jim was asked recently what kinds of parties he liked to plan the best. He explained that through the years many people and companies have booked the entire 10,000 square foot restaurant and have asked him to come up with a custom menu based on his style and what is in season. He placed different food stations, wine stations and bars throughout the different rooms and levels in the restaurant along with informal seating areas. The first floor bistro area with its dramatic thirty foot ceiling was reserved for a dance floor and band in some cases or for the initial cocktail hour that opens up to a vast patio through French doors or both. The stations included an outdoor grill serving up miniature steaks, fresh grilled tuna sliders and vegetable kebabs to name a few. There could also be a complete raw bar, mozzarella bar, pasta stations, unique salads utilizing the outrageously fresh Garden State produce, homemade cakes, pastries and cookies from our renowned pastry chef are also available. Jim says” The great thing about this kind of party is it forces people to mingle and it is much more fun that a traditional table number one through forty six with boring food. Throughout my career people have come to me when they need something that is exceptional and that other caterers cannot provide.”
Other corporate events that are gaining in popularity at Tre Piani are team building exercises including Iron Chef competitions, cooking their own dinners, improvisational training and even wine tasting and classes. So don’t just think of Tre Piani as a local restaurant think of it when you need a party done right.
